Project OVITA in concert "OVITA for Her"

"The profession of surgery in gynecology and obstetrics has given me insight into two pivotal moments at both ends of life's timeline – its beginning and its fragility. During night shifts in the maternity ward, I witness the strength of a woman bringing new life into the world. In my regular workday, I witness the strength of a woman confronting a cancer diagnosis. These women are not just cancer patients; they are mothers, grandmothers, sisters, wives, friends, daughters, granddaughters, each with her own life story and mission.

Surgery and the piano are my passions, but my mission is to provide my patients with the highest quality and most dedicated care. With this in mind, we have established the OVITA project in collaboration with committed professionals, patients, and renowned individuals. The aim of the project is to unite people for the common good, raise public awareness to reduce the occurrence of these diseases as much as possible, and contribute to the best possible treatment, care, and support for women with gynecological cancers.

The vision of the OVITA project goes far beyond the disease itself – through the experience of gynecological cancer, it aims not only to raise awareness but also to speak about life and people. Therefore, the concert ‘OVITA for Her’ will authentically and profoundly connect not only patients and all of us who fight alongside them but also renowned musicians, artists, professionals, and personalities from Slovenia and abroad."

Together with Mateja Lasič (piano) and the Grex Symphoniacorum UL Symphony Orchestra, the performers will include Anja Bukovec (violin), Bojan Cvjetićanin from the band Joker Out (vocals), Tomi Meglič from the band Siddharta (vocals), Sara Čano (cello), Maja Žerjav (saxophone), the vocal group Katrinas, and the vocal group Muze. Orchestral music by the world-renowned composer Hans Zimmer, specially arranged for this event by Emmy-nominated composer Anže Rozman, will accompany the profound stories of people that often remain hidden from view. The event’s depth will also be enhanced by the words of individuals whose actions have touched many lives and will inspire all those present in the hall.

For her, for us, for a better tomorrow.

All funds raised through the project and the concert will be dedicated to a public awareness campaign about these diseases, support for professionals and patients, and the purchase of medical equipment and surgical instruments that are urgently needed for the quality treatment of our patients with gynecological cancers.

The OVITA project and the concert 'OVITA for Her' are held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković. The project and concert are also supported by Ana Roš, Ksenija Benedetti, Sara Isaković, Oskar Kogoj, Aleksander Zadel, Uroš Ahčan, Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak, Tanja Skaza, Miha Mazzini, and many others.
